Conroy Smith is one of our favorite artists of the '80s, a man with nuff classics in the digital era. One of his best and rarest tunes is this one, "Murder Commit", only issued on a hideously rare US-press 45 on Ed Robinson's MoBay Records label. '80s digital sound killing tunes do not get much better than this. Check the video on youtube of Conroy performing this song live at Sting in 1988!

Round two of Chopper releases from Digikiller! Like any respectable dancehall fan, we love a good version excursion, so before we move on to different riddims from the Chopper crew (more big tune soon come!), we figured we'd finish out the run on the two great riddims we already touched on. The late Alton Black was a part of the NY Chopper crew, and one of NY's most popular artists when he cut "Reunited" on Chopper's killer lick of 'billie jean' now well known via Don Hickey's "Cooperate." All fans of the 'lovers digi' micro-genre (ha!) take note, this one should be near the top of your lists. Next, the rugged 'rasta cowboy' riddim. Courtney Melody jumped on it, a rare outing for the artist on a full live-band Channel 1-cut riddim! But "Watching You" shows how Mr. Melody can ride this kind of riddim just as well as ever. To the best of our knowledge neither of these tunes was ever released until they appeared on an obscure CD compilation in the late 90s, long after being cut. So here they are now, as meant to be, on vinyl 45 with dubs!

First releases from a brand new and exclusive Jah Life reissue series, which will feature rare tunes, previously unreleased tunes, and previously unreleased dubplate mixes. Carlton Livingston's "Itch It Up Operator" is a heavy sound man tune, never widely available on single. The B-side dub on this one is a wild previously unreleased dubplate mix! This twelve-inch from Mr. Levy is some bad bad mid '80s Barrington on one of the most killer licks of the 'revolution' (aka 'black roses'/'here i come') riddim...always hard to find! Two different mixes on this 12", vocal & dub on each side. The next Dub Irator twelve is back to back heat, and two of the rarest tunes from the Jah Life catalog. Jug Head's tune is a 1984 roots heater, Ossie D & Stevie G's tune is late '80s one-away digital fire, and both sides with dubs! On to the Wayne Jarrett LP, this is simply put one of the best LP's of the 1980's, unavailable since its original release 30+ years ago! filled with a killer selection of some of the best and hardest Roots Radics riddims, this is a true start to finish classic album.
